History of Science Research Award

The Worth Library History of Science Research Award.

The Worth Library History of Science Research Award is awarded each year during Dublin Science Week (November). The award is open to all researchers in the field of history of science (including health sciences). While primarily designed to draw attention to the wonderful resources at the Worth Library for historians of early modern science, the award is also open to scholars working on all periods, particularly those working on the history of science in Ireland.

Applications will be judged by an academic committee on the History of Science.

Application Guidelines

The prize is €250.

This award is open to all researchers in the history of science.

Research must be unpublished and be based on original research in the field.

Applicants should submit their paper and an abstract of it in either PDF or Word format along with a completed application form.

The paper itself should not be more than 8,000 words in length. The abstract must not exceed 800 words in length.

 

Applicants should complete the attached 2015 Worth Library Science Research application form and submit it, their paper and an abstract of their paper by 1 September 2015 to: Dr Elizabethanne Boran, Librarian, The Edward Worth Library, Dr Steevens’ Hospital, Dublin 8.
